Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?
It's a little indecisive in what we actually believe our genre is, we pull from many different outlets and inspirations. We say post punk, but that seems like a little bit of a blanketed term. The record, I wouldn't say is that completely; most of it can be considered quite psychedelic and alternative. But people haven't heard these recordings yet. They'll be out soon.
Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?
I would say this far, the biggest win for us has been opening for OMNI and DZ Deathrays; those we awesome shows. We also had the privilege of recording a live off the floor video/interview with “Once More with Feeling”. Great time, really talented people, more to come.
Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?
I think we’ve played almost every venue in the city at this point. But the Pearl has been an awesome spot recently, but my all time favorite must be Buddahs on East Hastings, before it shutdown after the fire. Those tall ceilings and cement walls gave off a really cool echo room feel. Most sound engineers would think otherwise but there was a distinct atmosphere about it.
Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?
I honestly love tape & vinyl. I know its not the best “quality”, but again there's a difference in cadence and tone when it comes to analog, especially when you have a good setup. CD will always be “the best”, but its a dying platform. People want the album in full in their hands. I also love record inserts; to me, vinyl is like getting the full picture.
Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?
We’ve played a lot of shows and seen a lot of bands; at this point, the ones who surprised me the most was Deaf Dogs. Really unique sound and I love what they bring on stage. I've been friends with Brent for a long time now, it's nice to see him doing what he loves.
Q: What’s coming up next for your music?
We've got an EP coming out very soon, along with our first music video. I won't spoil too much yet, but its been a long time coming. The full length record will be out this year. Currently we're writing the next record; maybe even get a shot at KEXP once this first ones done. Who knows, we'll try our best.
