Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

I'm Kyden, representing my band; Yegg is a 4 piece Death metal band from Vancouver Island formed in 2023. We take influences from old school Florida style death metal and meld it with modern arrangements and percussive style rhythms like slam and hardcore.

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

As musicians we have all had different levels in our careers some of us are brand new to being in an active live band and others have done international touring. Highest honor I have personally had was opening for some of my favorite bands like Dying fetus, Exhumed, cattle decapitation, etc.  In the heyday of my tenure in OGROEM, I think we have some great opportunities ahead of us.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

The Globe in Nanaimo has been phenomenal for bands on vancouver island, although The Rickshaw in Vancouver always stands out as one of my all time favorites.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

My opinion on the best medium is going to be the one that had the easiest access to the listener! Digital is great for being able to have your favorite tracks on the go, but I am an avid vinyl collector, love the format and think it's really fun way to collect and experience music.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

Favorite local bands are hard to pinpoint so ill list off some great ones from our area: Misyrion, Mvlgrave, Crown of madness, Truent, Altered dead, Dirge, Dissolver, Torrefy, Decryptor, Whorebanger, Corrode, Endr, Antler, Kryptiea, theres a ton! Get out and support your local scene!!!

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

Yegg is currently working on a debut LP release for 2025 entitled "rotten", should see streaming apps in the spring and some touring and festival appearances to follow if all goes as planned!
