Support the Scene is back with a fresh faced blog, and as always, we're ready to introduce you to some of the amazing local talent we have here, and to reacquaint you with some of your favourites. We have such an incredible music scene here in the GVA, and there are so many amazing artists just waiting for you to check them out. So, after an intensely hot and busy summer, some of our talented local artists found time to answer a few of our questions.

Check out what Jane Doe had to say!

Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

Hi! We’re Jane Doe – a west coast rock band! We would describe our sound as being straight up rock n roll with heavy inspiration from the Grunge era.

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

After the pandemic, where we - along with thousands of other artists - were hit really hard, we played our first show back headlining at the Viper Room to a huge crowd of people. It was amazing be back onstage!

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

Anywhere that’ll have us!

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

Probably vinyl, because as a listener you could really see how much of a collaboration putting together an album was. From the music to the art – it was a team of people putting together a sonic experience.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

We’re huge fans of Brandon Baumann, so any time he’s in town you know it’ll be a blast. We also love Plastic Rhino!

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

We have an album dropping on September 27th! It’s currently for pre-order on iTunes, so if you want to support an up-and-coming rock band and have $9.90 to spare, pre-order that sucker! We promise you won’t be disappointed. And if you send us a screenshot of your purchase, we’ll send you some awesome merch!
