Support the Scene is back with a fresh faced blog, and as always, we're ready to introduce you to some of the amazing local talent we have here, and to reacquaint you with some of your favourites. We have such an incredible music scene here in the GVA, and there are so many amazing artists just waiting for you to check them out. So, after an intensely hot and busy summer, some of our talented local artists found time to answer a few of our questions.

Check out what Landmark 20 had to say!

♪ ♫ ♪

Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

We got four members! Cooper (me) on Vocals and Guitar. Cody on bass and vocals. John and on lead guitar, and Kristian on drums And backing vocals. For our sound, we like to think of us as a blend of pop punk and Midwest emo, with a tinge of shoegaze. We got heavy riffs and hard drums but we’re not afraid to get soft.

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

Our last single, “You Don’t Matter (Give Up)” has been doing better than all of our past releases! This past year has honestly been our best, in terms of our growth as performers and songwriters. We’ve definitely played more shows this year than past years.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

Bullys in New West. We recorded our first EP there, so it’s a little sentimental for us, and since then it’s become an amazing venue run by amazing people.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

Each format has its perks! Obviously digital gets the most ears, but there’s something about owning a physical copy of an LP or EP, regardless if it’s vinyl, CD or Tape, that just feels special.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

There are too many to count! Off the top of my head: Early Work, Cloudsick, Swear Jar, Chief State, Bucket, the SPEWZ, Mooshy Face, The Stonefruits and Muppet Boys.

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

We got a new single on September 13th called “Redfield”, with a video releasing shortly after, and an EP that will hopefully be ready by the start of January next year!
