Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

My name is Quenten Truhn, a small town boy from northern Alberta.
My sound has been described as “Soul Rock”, it’s steeped in love, trauma, adventure and self improvement.
At the age of 19 I decided music was likely my best shot at being able to help, so I picked up a guitar and started learning.

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

Being able to do a small solo tour this summer was really cool, I’m thankful to be able to really start spreading the sound around.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

I am so excited to play the Vogue theatre!

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

I think most of these vessels come with their specific advantages. Personally I like the warmth of a vinyl record but the availability and fidelity of digital music is so rich.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

Lately I am addicted to an unreleased Dusknote @Dusknote track so any chance I have to hear them play it at the end of a set, I’m there!
Otherwise Brass Camel @Brasscamel will melt your world.

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

I am finally launching the brain baby “Coastal Shivers” @coastalshivers, sultry soul rock with a dialed in, versatile group of 5. We have a record worth of demos that take to the studio, for what will be the released versions, on Sept 8th.
There are existing talks of shows for Coastal Shivers at local venues in 2024.
