Space Queen is an all-female alternative rock group from Vancouver, BC. |

Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?
Space Queen is Jenna Earle on guitar and vocals, Seah Maister on bass and vocals and Karli MacIntosh on drums and vocals. We describe ourselves as Crosby Stills and Nash vocally, meets Black Sabbath and Queens of the Stone Age musically - but women!
Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?
Getting a P2 visa and touring the Western US multiple times this year! Breaking into the US had been a huge goal of ours as a band.
Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?
Our favourite venue in Vancouver would have to be the rickshaw! We love the stage and the sound is always amazing! Plus, Mo and the team at the rickshaw are so supportive of the scene and of local music. It’s a venue we love to not only play, but see shows at too!
Some of our favourite venues away from Vancouver would be Transplants in Palmdale - a brewery/music venue that is just a really cool vibe! Or the Redwood in downtown LA - a pirate themed bar that has history going back to prohibition times with secret tunnels underneath and some serious ghostly energy!
Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?
Vinyl for sure - the warmth of the sound vinyl has makes it our favourite format to listen to music! Tapes are super cool too - the warble and the wind up sound at the beginning.
Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?
We can’t just name one! There are so many cool bands in Vancouver that we love to see perform! The Getmines, Charles Mansion, Pet Blessings, Molten Lava, Bort, Spectra, Black Mastiff (they’re 1/3rd local so it counts!), Black Wizard!
We also can’t limit it to just Vancouver, because BC has some seriously great bands too! Pharm and Sweetbeast (both from Kelowna) are killer bands and some of the nicest people! And Rad Dog from the Kootenays are so cool and just hustling all the time! Love them!
Q: What’s coming up next for your music?
We will be recording and releasing a new single by the end of 2024 with Tony Reed (Mos Generator, Pentagram) and we have plans to record our debut full length album to be released by the end of 2025. Over the course of the next year we will be putting out multiple singles and music videos from the album leading up to its release.
