Show Review - Dead Fast, Hab!t and Off by an Inch

  Support the Scene had the opportunity to send one of our incredibly talented photographers to see Dead Fast, Hab!t, and Off By An Inch on November 9th, at Lana Lou's. Here's what Jason Yen & Chanel Brown had to say about the venue and the incredible performance that these bands put on.

Dead Fast came in hot with a fast tempo and a catchy beat, reminiscent of some of our favorite punk and emo bands of years past. With an intense energy in their songs, and a beat that throws us back to the old underground punk shows, they had the entire crowd moving and bouncing on their feet. The engagement in the crowd was impressive, and everybody appeared to be having a killer time. The whiny edge their vocals took on, felt like home, like the music of our youth shining through. We would highly recommend checking them out at a future show!

Hab!t showed off some incredible energy on stage, and it was well reflected in the crowd. The vocals owned this band, with solid grit throughout that had everyone invested. Nothing makes this reviewer happier than gritty, fry-filled vocals. Paired with the beats provided by drums, and the guitar and bass providing heavy riffs, people couldn’t help but bounce, headbang, and mosh to this bands performance. We look forward to seeing what else this band has in store for us.

Off By An Inch possibly held my favorite performance of the evening. Something about the tempo of this band caught us by the feet and just made us dance along. With high energy and a bouncy vibe, we were very happy with what we heard out of this band. I did wish there was a bit more grit to their vocals, but the harmonics made up for this. This was an incredibly enthusiastic band, and the crowd at Lana Lou’s adored them. 

 

By the end of this show, the crowd was beat, the mood pleasant, and everyone seemed to have had an incredible night. Our photographer especially was beyond ecstatic about this show, and his photos show that. He even considered it the highlight of his long weekend. Everyone participated in these sets, and we’re so excited to see what more will come out of these three incredible bands!

New Music - Prepare For Hypothermia!

  Freeze The Fall has burst onto the scene in a whirlwind of riffs and hypnotic melodies. Despite their relative youthfulness, they caught the ever-watching eye of 604 Records . Together they worked hard to polish this already bright diamond into a new single titled " Hypothermia ". The track as well as accompanying music video will be released on Feb 12th . Show Review - Put THAT In The Bible!

Support the Scene had the opportunity to send one of our incredibly talented photographers to see Bible Girl, Doom Loops, and Kites on Mars on November 8th, at Lana Lou's. Here's what Jade Weekes had to say about the incredible performance that these bands put on.  ♪ ♫ ♪ Bible Girl had their first show at Lana Lou's last night. Their sound was a great mix of indie rock with a touch of shoegaze. Since it was their first show, it was expected to have a couple of flubs but they carried on like the seasoned musicians they are. Many dynamic changes made their set full of unexpected energy bursts, amidst their more low-key overall sound. Keep an eye out for their upcoming single!  ♪ ♫ ♪   Doom Loops brought some tasty piano licks, soaring synths, and catchy vocals; and that was only from ONE of their members!
