Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

Aloha you beautiful humans! We are that hot home cooked meal you've been craving and waiting for: We are The Lunchtime Band. Bringing unlimited power and pure raw rock and roll energy to every gig we get our grubby little hands on, we guarantee you won't be able to keep your feet still. With the amazing starting 5 lineup consisting of Luc Torreggiani on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Ruedi Mani on the BEHS, Micheal Read on lead axe, Derya Whaley-Kalaora on keys and dreamy back up vocals and Dawson Treadgold on the cans. Our sound is constantly changing and our ideas are always bouncing and growing off of each other, resulting in an ethereal watery up-beat grimness with an unapologetic genre-bending sound, appealing to any audience we play for. So what are ya waiting for, get your buns to a Lunchtime show and dance those shoes right off of your feet!

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

It can be a little hard to say. I think we feel many gigs we’ve played over the years we’ve viewed as successes, especially when we have the crowd in the palm of our hands.
If we were to widdle it down, .aybe our most recent string of shows opening for bigger touring bands around the city, such as playing a sold out show at the Fox with British outfit, Sports Team or playing The Pearl, on Granville with Illscarlett which was a lot of fun, all thanks to the promotion company Modo. We’re very grateful for these amazing opportunities and being able to strut our stuff to new audiences.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

Red Gate Arts Society and/or Green Auto, hands down. These venues legitimately support this fantastic local scene here in town, putting on incredible all ages shows and fostering an amazing community where everyone can feel safe and free to express themselves and to truly be themselves. No matter how many big venues we play, places like Red Gate and Green Auto will always have a very special place in our hearts.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

Any way you can hear some sick music that moves you is pretty darn kosher

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

Gadfly, Brass Camel, Sleepy Gonzales, Bluestem, Cheap Flavor, and our new favourite: Piss

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

We will be crawling into our cave for the remainder of the year to cook up some scrumptious bangers that really covey the new era of The Lunchtime band. Come January, we will be at the amazing Park Sound Studio in the birthplace of the group, North Van, to be cooking up a new, hard rocking ear worm of a single that really does encapsulate all of us that you won't be able to stop grooving to. We cannot wait for you all to hear it :)
