Here's what they had to say...

Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

We are Sours. Our sound is somewhere between 2000’s indie-rock and modern indie-pop; full of drive and growl with emphasis on upbeat drum and bass while retaining catchy melodies and hooks. We put a lot of effort into producing creative lead and rhythmic guitar parts that not only compliment each other in our songs but rely on each other to work. Our music is pleasingly simple and easy to enjoy.

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

One of our biggest successes happened while we were performing for a free show where close to a hundred people showed up. We were playing a set full of new originals we had never previously performed and people loved it, the crowd was moving and mashing and it was the most fun we’d ever had as performers.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

We don’t really have a favourite venue as we haven’t played at more than four or five places, but lately we’ve been playing a ton of underground shows for house parties and events and it’s been a blast. Any venue is a good venue so long as the crowd is into it.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

The best medium for music is probably digital just because of convenience and reach. It’s a lot harder to be successful using purely vinyl, tape or CD as a small artist, but all these mediums are best used together as they serve different purposes to the artist and listeners.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

One of our favourite musicians to see live is Cherry Pick. They have a very dreamy sound that is amazing in person and their showmanship is incredible.

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

Our music has been going through a drastic change as we are writing songs more suited for a live performance. Currently, we’re working on a new eight to ten song album that is to come out sometime next year.
