Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

Hi there, we are The Haptics! Forming in 2022, we are Jin - vocals, Cam - guitar, Mike - bass, Alexis - drums. We play a mix of post punk, post rock, post grunge noise!

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

Just being in a band and jamming, recording, and playing around town regularly is an accomplishment but our biggest success? Probably some of the shows we've organized ourselves. Playing with some great bands in Victoria at the Phoenix, and another here in Van at the Cobalt. It's a great feeling when you get some bands together for a show and it goes off!

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

We've been lucky to have had some great shows at many local venues. Buddhas and the Astoria were very cool places to play, but I think we all loved making some noise at the Cobalt the most. Cool room and the history there of all the bands that have sweated on that stage over the years.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

Digital makes it easy in a lot of ways but I personally (Cam) love to sit with a drink and listen to a vinyl album from front to back. No skipping songs or rearranging the order, it's played out how the artist intended. The hits mixed in with the deeper cuts.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

We've played with some super good bands around! Vancouver has a good scene with a variety of music coming out of it. Some of our favourites have been, The Hausplants, Dead Rights (Victoria counts as local?) Creatures of Autumn (Victoria), Danny Echo, The China Syndrome

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

We just released our latest single "Biodome" on Dec 1st. We'll have another single "Ghost" out Jan 31st then one more single in April before our 2nd full length album drops this spring!
