Vancouvers Next Drag Superstar - Clem

 

The hunt is on for Vancouver's Next Drag Superstar! We managed to chat with a few of this week's revealed contestants. Come out tomorrow to Celebrities Nightclub, as well as for the next few weeks, to see who makes it to the finals.

Introducing:

Clem

        1. How would you describe your drag to someone who’s never seen you before?

My drag is in the middle of being sexy and stupid.  I’m pretty confident in how I can look in drag but everything else about me makes it to awkward to fully commit to hotness

        2. What’s your go-to song to perform if you were trapped on a desert island and had to lip sync for your life to escape?

Beautiful dirty rich by lady gaga, that’s a song that I very last minute came up with a concept for but it’s turned into one of mine and a crowd favourite 

        3. Which guest judge are you most looking forward to performing in front of?
Jaylene Tyme. I have a friend in Kelowna who’s good friends with her and she is someone I’ve wanted to meet since moving here. 

        4. What do you think separates you from other Drag performers in Vancouver?
I think I have an interesting perspective on the music I perform, I like to twist meanings of songs to give them a new vibe 

        5. What’s the message you want to send to our readers to get them to come cheer you on?
If you like seeing an intentional mess within a number I have a whole production for you on the first night that you’ll want to see

New Music - Prepare For Hypothermia!

  Freeze The Fall has burst onto the scene in a whirlwind of riffs and hypnotic melodies. Despite their relative youthfulness, they caught the ever-watching eye of 604 Records . Together they worked hard to polish this already bright diamond into a new single titled " Hypothermia ". The track as well as accompanying music video will be released on Feb 12th . We had a chat with the band about the past, present, and future of Freeze The Fall.

Show Review - Put THAT In The Bible!

Support the Scene had the opportunity to send one of our incredibly talented photographers to see Bible Girl, Doom Loops, and Kites on Mars on November 8th, at Lana Lou's. Here's what Jade Weekes had to say about the incredible performance that these bands put on.  ♪ ♫ ♪ Bible Girl had their first show at Lana Lou's last night. Their sound was a great mix of indie rock with a touch of shoegaze. Since it was their first show, it was expected to have a couple of flubs but they carried on like the seasoned musicians they are. Many dynamic changes made their set full of unexpected energy bursts, amidst their more low-key overall sound. Keep an eye out for their upcoming single!  ♪ ♫ ♪   Doom Loops brought some tasty piano licks, soaring synths, and catchy vocals; and that was only from ONE of their members!
