Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?

My name is Andrew West. I'm the guitar player from the band LITTLE FIX. We're a group of very close friends that are fortunate enough to get to make music together. Our Drummer/ Vocalist is: Dave (Ritchie) Derksen. On Bass we have Andrew Marks, And our Frontman/Singer/Guitar player is David Truscott. I would describe our sound as predominantly 90's Influenced alternative rock. We individually bring a lot of different influences to the table. And our approach to music is to kind of take off the guard rails and just let the creativity fly. We aren't super fussed necessarily lumping our sound in with any one type.....Rock would be the generalization tho. But song to song in our set, I think you'd hear a lot of different influences.

Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?

We've all played in a LOT of bands, and have had our own individual successes. For LITTLE FIX in particular tho, I think our biggest success is, as I stated before, is just the fact that we have complete creative autonomy to make whatever we want here. But to play in a band with my best friends, for me is the biggest success.

Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?

With so few venues now in the city.....it's been tough. the options are very limited these days. We had a really fun gig at the Fox theatre a year or so ago. The sound was great there. We love playing the Roxy too.

Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?

I mean, since we're all 90's kids, and grew up on cassettes and CD's. I'd probably have to say CD's. These days I listen to more Vinyl and streaming as those mediums are more common and accessible. But I very much miss the days of having a giant book of CD's, and listening to albums from tip to tip. Obv you can still do that these days too, and i very much do. But you can't deny the allure of making playlists. It's much easier than burning CD's. ha.

Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?

We've been fortunate enough to meet and play with some pretty cool bands locally. As of late, we've become pretty big fans of Canyon Riders. We just played a show with "The time we died" and we really dug their music. So it's safe to say we're fans now.

Q: What’s coming up next for your music?

We're currently trying to set up our schedule of shows for this year. Little fix is in the middle of writing new material, we're looking forward to getting our there, playing our new stuff with some cool bands, and then I thnk we're gonna get in to the studio to record our next batch of new material. We're super excited!!
